Testosterone after unsuccessful bilateral Micro-TESE

Nested case-cohort study

Library updated:

Testosterone after unsuccessful bilateral Micro-TESE

What was investigated and what was found?

Long-term testosterone changes after the procedure were evaluated in 26 surgical cases and 52 controls.

Interpreting the findings

This was a small, selected group; it does not represent the risk for all Micro-TESE patients.

How can you prepare for a consultation?

For a discussion of surgical sperm retrieval research, bring any previous operation notes and pathology reports. Clarify whether the earlier procedure was conventional TESE or micro-TESE and whether sperm were found. Salvage treatment after failed conventional TESE and another procedure after failed micro-TESE concern different research groups and should be discussed separately.
