What was investigated and what was found?
The review separately evaluates repeat retrieval after previous success and a new sperm search after previous failure.
Interpreting the findings
Conditional rates in selected patients should not be generalized to all patients.
How can you prepare for a consultation?
For a discussion of surgical sperm retrieval research, bring any previous operation notes and pathology reports. Clarify whether the earlier procedure was conventional TESE or micro-TESE and whether sperm were found. Salvage treatment after failed conventional TESE and another procedure after failed micro-TESE concern different research groups and should be discussed separately.
