Sperm and offspring obtained through mRNA delivery in a mouse model

Preclinical experiment in mice

Library updated:

Sperm and offspring obtained through mRNA delivery in a mouse model

What was investigated and what was found?

In mice with a Pdha2 defect, delivery of mRNA to the testis using lipid nanoparticles was followed by offspring production through ICSI.

Interpreting the findings

This was not a treatment applied to humans. The result is specific to this animal model.

How can you prepare for a consultation?

Basic science publications can help frame a discussion about how a mechanism or potential research target was identified. Ask whether the study addresses a question relevant to your existing diagnosis or genetic report. Keep cell and mouse findings separate from interventions performed in people: observed sperm production is not the same as a clinical treatment outcome.

What does this research mean for your situation?

Let us begin with your diagnosis, previous findings and goals as a couple. You can request an initial consultation with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çolakoğlu to discuss what this research means for your own situation.
