A new study reporting negative findings for AMH prediction

What was investigated and what was found?

In 58 patients with NOA, AMH did not significantly predict sperm retrieval. The AUC for AMH was 0.531.

Interpreting the findings

The findings contrast with positive AMH studies; the study was limited by its single-centre design and small sample.

How can you prepare for a consultation?

When discussing a biomarker publication, bring your existing hormone reports and any previous sperm retrieval results. Ask which patients were studied and how closely their circumstances resemble yours. An association involving AMH or another marker in a research group does not provide a certain prediction for an individual patient.

What does this research mean for your situation?

Let us begin with your diagnosis, previous findings and goals as a couple. You can request an initial consultation with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çolakoğlu to discuss what this research means for your own situation.
